WB has just dropped a new trailer for Birds of Prey, and we get to have a good look at more things to come in the film. What's curious is, a shot of Roman Sionis/Black Mask in the preview is leading some to question if the character is going to be gay in this iteration.
It's the shot where Sionis is hugging fellow Batman villain Victor Zsasz (Chris Messina) closely, and he's also seen wearing a bathrobe:

With Black Mask infamous for being a sadist in the comics, it would kind of make sense that he would associate himself with Zsasz who is a masochist. If you don't know Zsasz's deal, he basically cuts himself whenever he kills someone, hence his body is covered in scars.
Though I could just be misreading the shot of the two characters together, Twitter is definitely up for a gay Black Mask:
While it could be any day now when we get a gay superhero on the big screen, it would be interesting to see a villain be gay this time around. We know that McGregor can play the part (he played Jim Carrey's lover in I Love You, Phillip Morris), and Sionis being gay kind of explains why each and every one of his outfits in the trailers has been fabulous.
Then again, I could be wrong.
