It has been a long time but Bird Box Barcelona finally got an awesome update. The Spanish-language spin-off film to the 2018 Sandra Bullock movie finally got a new trailer and an official release date.

Bird Box Barcelona Trailer Teases More Blind-Folding Action In Spain

The official teaser for Bird Box Barcelona was dropped by Netflix and it immediately sets up the major problem: "They take our fears and they twist them," a woman explains. As if on cue, the chandeliers begin shaking and everyone quickly put their blindfolds on.

Although the trailer puts the focus on the man and his young daughter, they are not the only ones trying to avoid the monsters. As the two step out into the city, they immediately encounter other desperate blindfolded survivors.

But can these people be trusted? Sebastian and his daughter will learn that humanity might be deadlier than the monsters around them.

The official synopsis for Bird Box Barcelona reads as follows:

"From the producers of the global phenomenon, Bird Box, comes BIRD BOX BARCELONA, an expansion of the film that riveted audiences in 2018.

"After a mysterious force decimates the world’s population, Sebastian must navigate his own survival journey through the desolate streets of Barcelona.

"As he forms uneasy alliances with other survivors and they try to escape the city, an unexpected and even more sinister threat grows."

Bird Box Barcelona is directed by Alex and David Pastor and is the first spin-off for the 2018 hit based on Josh Malerman's novel. There are speculations that a sequel to the Sandra Bullock movie is also in development.

It will star Mario Casas, Naila Schuberth, Georgina Campbell, Diego Calva, Alejandra Howard, Lola Dueñas, Patrick Criado, Gonzalo de Castro, Michelle Jenner, Leonardo Sbaraglia, and Celia Freijeiro.

Bird Box Barcelona will begin streaming on Netflix on July 14, 2023.
