Billie Lourd Speaks About the Loss of Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds

Billie Lourd has kept understandably silent about the tragic loss of her mother Carrie Fisher and her grandmother, Debbie Reynolds. However, she broke that silence today by releasing a statement on Instagram. You can read it below:

Lourd wrote: "Receiving all of your prayers and kind words over the past week has given me strength during a time I thought strength could not exist. There are no words to express how much I will miss my Abadaba and my one and only Momby. Your love and support means the world to me." She included a childhood picture featuring her, her mother and her grandmother.

Carrie Fisher, a prolific author and humorist best known for her role as Princess Leia in Star Warspassed away last Tuesday due to a heart attack. Her mother, Debbie Reynolds, an acclaimed actress and businesswoman who had an amazing career after starring in Singin' in the Rain, passed away a day later.

Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher will have a joint funeral, NBC news reports. The funeral will be a private one. They will be buried near each other at Florence Hollywood Hills. Many Hollywood stars are interred in that gravesite, including Florence Henderson and David Carradine.

My heart goes out to Billie Lourd during this difficult time. It's hard enough to lose one's mother and it's terribly tragic she lost her grandmother shortly after. Hopefully her memories of her family will keep her going strong.
