Bethesda is Open to Making Games for Nintendo NX

Recently, there has been a flurry of speculations and confirmations regarding the Nintendo NX. In particular, there's already one developer, Ubisoft, that has confirmed working on a surprise for the Nintendo NX.

Another studio, Square Enix, has also confirmed that the Dragon Quest X will be in development for the Nintendo NX alongside the PS4 version.

From the looks of it, there will be another studio in the form of Bethesda. Speaking to Finder.com.au, Bethesda's Pete Hines hinted that they are considering Nintendo NX as a platform for Bethesda games.

"We talk to Nintendo all the time—we're pretty well-briefed in on what they are doing. It's definitely something we will look at; and our philosophy is that we will put our games out on any format that supports the games as we envisage and make them."

This highly suggests that Bethesda is very open to the possibility—so long as the technical specs and gameplay experience that the Nintendo NX will provide is compatible with the plans that the studio has for its games.

This is understandable, considering how Nintendo has not yet fully revealed what exactly the Nintendo NX will look like or perform as a console. there are already a lot of patents seen for the device, but the company has yet to officially unveil it.

For now, even Bethesda is hinging on a wait-and-see basis, as the studio is not yet committing to putting out any games on Nintendo's new console. It's all about getting the "right fit for the right formats," a thrust that I think is completely justified.

Nintendo's platforms have not been the favorite of most developers, and it has slowly been casted out with every new AAA game released. While it has its own fan base, there's the matter of developers creating more games for more advanced current-gen consoles and technologies.

Hopefully, the Nintendo NX will be the company's step into the current-gen console arena. Pokemon Go was a success, partly from Nintendo's efforts going into mobile. It would be nice to see the same success for its Nintendo NX.
