Benedict Wong Reveals What He Knew About Doctor Strange 2 Before Announcement

There's a lot of excitement building up over Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Not only does the film promise to explore the many different possibilities one can find in the multiverse, but it also promises a team-up between Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange and Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlett Witch.

Of course, Wong is returning in the Doctor Strange sequel, too. Benedict Wong just recently spoke in an interview with Collider to help promote his upcoming movie Gemini Man, and during the discussion, the Marvel star confirmed the return of his Kamar-Taj Master of the Mystic Arts. He also teased a few new details about Multiverse of Madness.

"I did tweet Scott just to kind of confirm, 'Am I in this?' And he said yes, I am. So, that's good to know. We'll see what happens," he said when asked whether he'd be returning in the Doctor Strange sequel.

The actor was also asked to spill what he knew about the movie before Marvel made the big announcement during this year's San Diego Comic-Con international.

"I didn't know the title, but I had a few little inklings," Wong teased.

There have been very few details about Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness ever since Marvel announced the film at SDCC. Of course, Marvel probably isn't planning to share anything about the film just yet – the film's still a couple of years away from its release. Right now, Marvel's focus is on the Black Widow standalone movie which is set to kick off Phase 4 of the MCU.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness premieres in cinemas May 7, 2021.
