The first teaser for Spider-Man: No Way Home already had people talking as it confirms Peter Parker and Doctor Strange had a hand at changing what is happening in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But will the sequel cause some conflicts between fans? Benedict Cumberbatch has revealed that the movie is expected to spark major debates when it finally premieres this December.
Cumberbatch is part of two major MCU films in the next six months, the first of which is Spider-Man 3. Interestingly, his return as Doctor Strange will mean huge changes, as revealed in the movie's first trailer. On the other hand, this isn't the only thing that fans can expect in the upcoming flick.
The Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness star recently joined the Variety Awards Circut Podcast where he spoke about Spider-Man 3.
"Yeah, it will be a lot, a lot of fun," Cumberbatch said. He then dropped an unexpected comment.
"There will be a lot of debate about it, I'm sure, but it's a daring, brilliant concept," Cumberbatch said.
This is a cool revelation considering what we already know. After all, fans are already debating about whether it was Doctor Strange who had actually messed up the timeline for changing Peter's fate. But is there more to look forward to in this tease?
There have already been speculations that Spider-Man 3 will feature three different Spider-Men played by Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire. Despite repeated denials from the cast and crew, fans are still convinced that we'll be seeing a live-action Spider-Verse later this year.
We love the idea of three Spider-Men but it's important to point out that Garfield and Maguire's appearances have not yet been confirmed. With that in mind, it's best to take this with a grain of salt.
Spider-Man: No Way Home will premiere on December 17, 2021.
