Spider-Man 3 Star Benedict Cumberbatch Praises Director Jon Watts

People already have huge expectations when it comes to Spider-Man: No Way Home. After all, the trailer for the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel revealed some interesting new details. Not surprisingly, Benedict Cumberbatch is also out there hyping up the movie and he has nothing but praise for director Jon Watts.

Cumberbatch recently spoke with Variety where he was happy to talk about Spider-Man 3. Although the Avengers: Endgame star didn't reveal too much about the MCU sequel, he did say it's going to be amazing, thanks to the director and his team.

"It's gonna be a great film, I think. I think Jon Watts is a genius, all that team was on those three films are vastly brilliant," Cumberbatch said. He then spoke more about how Watts worked so well on the upcoming movie.

"Jon is great, he's got such a light touch, he's so assured though. He's great to hang out with on set. He's very witty, but incredibly generous and supportive. Everything you want in a director," Cumberbatch said.

"He's young, he's energetic, he gets the kids - I call myself an 'older person' to the older people. It's an atmosphere on that set. It's a bonded group, they've done three [movies] now, beautiful work environment. I really really enjoyed being on that set, I really did," Cumberbatch continued.

It certainly sounds like Spider-Man 3 was a fun film to shoot for Cumberbatch and this shouldn't be a surprise considering that it has an amazing cast. Needless to say, we can't wait to see Doctor Strange in action later this year.
