The highly anticipated adaptation of Richard Adams' classic novel Watership Down is finally coming this December. Luckily, BBC has released the first images and full cast list of the new series.
The mini-series will feature It: Chapter Two actor James McAvoy as Hazel, Star Wars: Episode IX's John Boyega as Bigwig, Nicholas Hoult of Dark Phoenix as Fiver, Murder of the Orient Express actress Olivia Coleman as Strawberry, and The Girl with All the Gifts star Gemma Arterton as Clover.
Peter Capaldi (Doctor Who) has been confirmed to join the cast as the seagull Kehaar. Black Panther's Daniel Kaluuya will voice Bluebell while Gone Girl actress Rosamund Pike will play The Black Rabbit Of Inlé.
Additional cast members include Taron Egerton, Mackenzie Crook, Gemma Chan, Jason Watkins, Rory Kinnear, Craig Parkinson, Henry Goodman, Tom Wilkinson, Lee Ingleby, Charlotte Spencer, and Daniel Rigby. They will be joined by Ben Kingsley, Freddie Fox, Anne-Marie Duff, and Miles Jupp. Check out the first images from the series below.

Sam Smith will perform the show's theme titled Fire on Fire. The musician stated that he is proud to be a part on the upcoming adaptation.
"I am so excited and honoured to be a part of this new adaptation of Watership Down. This story is so powerful and timeless, and it has been thrilling to work with Noam and his team and the incredible Steve Mac on this song for it. I hope everyone loves it as much as I do."
Watership Down will follow the story of a group of rabbits who escape the destruction of their burrow and their journey to find a new home. The mini-series will premiere on BBC One in the UK and on Netflix worldwide on December 25.
