Battlefield V Developer Responds to Backlash from Fans

The release of the Battlefield V trailer has not been met with the best reaction from fans. The trailer currently stands at 59k dislikes over 48k likes, and has been bashed for "historical inaccuracy"; what with having women fighting during the war. DICE general manager Oskar Gabrielson comments on the reaction, and implies that historical accuracy was never really the goal.

For a game that lets you jump from one moving plane to another, a lot of people are questioning these fans that are bashing Battlefield V for "historical inaccuracy". There's also a huge chance that the community is just angry at the game for being developed by EA, who, after the disaster that was Star Wars Battlefront II, is turning out to be one of the most reviled gaming companies today.

As someone who actually bought Battlefront II, the game actually plays really well now. The only issue that the player base has is the lack of updates and messed up matchmaking. Rumor has it that EA has taken a handful of developers from that game to make them work on their next Triple A game—which is Battlefield V.

Let's just cross our fingers and hope that the developers at DICE aren't dragged along with this shit storm that EA is bringing along with anything they publish under their brand.

Battlefield V will be available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC on Oct. 19.
