The fifth episode of Legends of Tomorrow featured a great Constantine storyline and an epic fight with Genghis Khan. Focusing on the former, there was a scene where Constantine hallucinates the Bulldog on his cane where he literally has a conversation with it. As it turns out, the Bulldog was a Batman v Superman actor.
This article contains SPOILERS for Legends of Tomorrow "Mortal Khanbat" episode.
Veteran voice actor Robin Atkin Downes provided the voice of the Bulldog in the "Mortal Khanbat" episode, which ironically, will be a movie he'll soon provide a voice in too. Downes has voiced a lot of characters and creatures in films like Frozen II and Suicide Squad. Fans ought to know him as the voice of Doomsday in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, where he portrayed the character as well via motion capture. He has also provided the voices of Jo from Supergirl and a Dominator from The Flash, which makes the Bulldog his latest Arrowverse appearance.
As for the character itself, the Bulldog seems to be portrayed as an important character since he gives John some advice. When Constantine decides to just die alone, the dog scolds him for lashing out at Gary and Ray and giving up even though they have been supporting him in finding a cure for his lung cancer. Eventually, Constantine dies momentarily, but managed to convince Astra to be brought back, cured of cancer and newly resurrected.
It isn't clear whether the Bulldog will return in later episodes, but given that Constantine is technically cured, the cane might not be of use.
DC's Legends of Tomorrow airs on Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
