Batman: The Killing Joke Trailer Shows A First Look At The DC Animated Feature

Batman fans could argue all night about which Batman story plays a more iconic role in the Dark Knight's history: Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns from 1986, or Alan Moore's Batman: The Killing Joke from 1988. Both are must-read classics, but with elements of The Dark Knight Returns making its way in Batman v Superman: Dawn ofJustice, it looks like Warner Bros.' upcoming adaptation of Batman: The Killing Joke has a better shot at being the better feature adaptation.

A 3-minute trailer for the adaptation has been released today, and it shows a first look at what The Killing Joke will look like in animated form, which features Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy reprising their Batman: The Animated Series voice roles as those characters.

There have been rumors that the film would feature Harley Quinn, which would be a departure from the source material, but the trailer didn't show the fan-favorite character. And we still don't know if the animated version would include what's possibly the most senseless act of violence seen in a comic book. We'll find out when the movie comes out this summer.   Watch the trailer of Batman: The Killing Joke here:
