Fans were already giddy with joy when it was announced that Batman: The Animated Series would be coming to Blu-Ray. At the time, no release date was announced, nor were there any special bonuses mentioned but that all changed during SDCC 2018. To celebrate the series' 25th anniversary, the Blu-Ray of this beloved animated series will be coming out on October 16.

According to SyFy, the special Blu-Ray set will not only come with all 85 episodes of the classic serial but will also have the complete 24-episode run of The New Batman Adventures. Other extras include Funko Pops of Batman, Joker, and Harley Quinn, cards depicting scenes from the series, and so much more.

For those unaware, The New Batman Adventures was a direct continuation of BTAS but with an animation style similar to Superman: The Animated Series, which proved to be a controversial move when The Joker's design was revealed. While not as strong as BTAS, The New Batman Adventures still had a number of great episodes, including an adaptation of the Mad Love one-shot and the acclaimed Over the Edge.

Those that will be getting the DC Universe service will be happy to know that the first two seasons of Batman: The Animated Series will be shown there in HD. Fans will have to wait a bit for the rest of the episodes, so completionists might want to pre-order that Blu-Ray.

How excited are you guys for the Blu-Ray release of Batman: The Animated Series? Are you happy that they chose to add The New Batman Adventures?
