Batman Teams Up With One of His Oldest Enemies to Take on Bane

Batman has teamed up with a lot of his villains in the past. Most recently, he teamed up with The Joker during Dark Knights: Metal to defeat the Batman Who Laughs, which was odd to see in hindsight. Bruce has also helped Poison Ivy recover from her demons and even brought her to Sanctuary, a healthcare center for super-powered individuals suffering from PTSD and other mental health problems.

So, seeing him team up with The Penguin this December isn't much of a surprise, even if it is kind of cool.

In the solicitations of Batman #60 (via CBR), it's revealed that Oswald Cobblepot after rejecting Bane's partnership offer to be a crime lord. Why he would turn down an offer from one of the Bat's most dangerous foes isn't known but we'll have to wait for the issue to come out to know why and how he turned him down.

Cobblepot has also lost his eye after an encounter with Jason Todd aka Red Hood. This is actually why Bruce and Jason are no longer in good terms, so seeing these two team up will be very fun. Expect Cobblepot to bring this up and maybe even ask Batman for money to get a new eye. We all know he's a very bitter bird.

Believe it or not, Bane has been the main antagonist for most of Tom King's Batman run. It all started with I am Suicide, where Bruce and his makeshift Suicide Squad decided to invade the nation Bane runs to take back Psycho Pirate and help Gotham Girl recover. This is actually why seeing her stand with Bane at the end of Batman #50 was odd since Bruce helped her get better.

We actually haven't seen much of Penguin in King's run, aside from the odd mention here and there. He has appeared in Batgirl, so that's something.

Batman #60 comes out this December.
