Batman Prequel Series Pennyworth Currently Searching For Its Young Alfred

It looks like the gears for Epix' Batman Prequel series Pennyworth are slowly turning.

Last week, word came out that the upcoming comic book television series had already received a production start date with Production Weekly reporting that Pennyworth would begin filming on November 21 this year.

This week, new reports say that the upcoming series inspired by DC is currently on the lookout for someone to play the leading role of a young Alfred Pennyworth in the show.

New audition tapes for Pennyworth have been recently uncovered by the site Geeks World Wide. Though the tapes have been set to private ever since they've been leaked, these new audition videos featured several candidates like Outlander and Unreal actor Tom Brittney trying out for the part.

The series which is to bring together 10 episodes during its first season at Epix is to feature Alfred as a "very young self-centered young man." According to a description of the Batman-prequel that came along with the leaked audition tapes, this version of Alfred would "rather make fun of British high society than be part of it."

It's definitely exciting to see Pennyworth on a roll, and we can't wait to see the series start production.

Pennyworth doesn't have a release date just yet, but we'll update everyone as soon as we get word.
