Aside from the Suicide Squad anime, fans can look forward to another DC project from Japan. That’s because the new anime film Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League was announced, though there’s no release date for it yet.
The announcement by Warner Bros. Japan came with the reveal of the film’s official logo. There are also some new details about it, though there’s no trailer for it yet.
Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League Release Date Predictions
This is not an all-new work, as it’s a sequel to the Batman Ninja movie, which was released in April 2018.
While there’s no word yet on premiere date plans, the new Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League movie confirmed its returning VA and main staff members.
To start, Koichi Yamadera (Spike Spiegel in Cowboy Bebop) will return to voice Bruce Wayne/Batman in this new movie.
Also returning is director Junpei Mizusaki (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders opening animation producer) alongside character designer Takashi Okazaki (of Afro Samurai fame).
The film will also be animated by Kamikaze Douga, the studio behind the first Batman Ninja movie along with other popular titles such as Sand Land: The Series. As such, the new Batman anime film will likely feature CG animation.
Given that there’s no release date yet, chances are that the film is still early into its production phase, meaning we likely won’t see it get released this year.
We might potentially see it be released in mid-2025 at the earliest given the time needed to produce a feature-length anime.

This New Batman Anime Might Not Be for Everyone
The original Batman Ninja received positive reviews from critics as its art style was praised, with many also liking how unique the Batman and Sengoku Period fusion is.
On the flip side, not everyone was a fan of the film’s story, not to mention that the CG animation wasn’t to some anime purists' liking.
Because of this, DC fans who didn’t like the first film likely won’t enjoy this new one. On the other hand, fans who want something completely new may be in for a treat.

What Could Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League Be About? Our Prediction
The film’s title pretty much confirms that instead of Sengoku Period warlords, Batman will need to face off against the yakuza. Crime syndicates like these should make Batman feel right at home.
Still, it’ll be interesting to see what period the film will be set in. Given that the modern yakuza was only really formed after World War II, chances are that the film will be set in the 20th century.
