Batman Movie With Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker Would Make Marvel’s Avengers Seem Childish

There's so much excitement building up over Joaquin Phoenix's Joker movie, so much so that industry analysts believe that a Batman movie with the Academy Award-winning actor's version of Gotham's Clown Prince of Crime would beat Marvel's Avengers: Endgame to a punch.

DC may have yet to release Todd Phillipp's gritty character study of the iconic Batman villain, however, there's been a lot of buzz going on about DC's Joker movie. The film is enjoying great reviews with critics calling the film a "masterpiece" and a "gloriously daring" endeavor.

With so much hype surrounding the movie, Guardian writer Ben Child finds it hard to believe that Warner Brothers wouldn't create a DC banner built around the Joker and his eternal nemesis, the Dark Knight. Especially with the studio developing Matt Reeve's The Batman movie.

"It is hard to imagine a Batman movie featuring Phoenix's Scorsese-inspired, 70s crime movie-style take on the clown prince of Gotham not hitting it off creatively with the taciturn caped crusader everyone hopes to see in Matt Reeves' forthcoming The Batman," the Guardian writes in its article.

According to the publication, it's impossible for DC not to want to bring top-tier talent together. Who wouldn't want to see Robert Pattinson's version of the Caped Crusader going against Phoenix's Joker in a "Gotham-themed mini-universe"? We sure would want to see that kind of project, and we haven't even seen the Joker movie yet.

The idea is so strong, that the publication believes that a movie with Pattinson's Batman and Phoenix's Joker would make the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Avengers movies seem like child-play. Of course, talented actors don't necessarily mean a successful film, but it sure does seem like a Batman versus Joker movie would be a success.

Joker premieres October 4, 2019.
