A complete rebrand from the ground up has long been overdue for the DC franchise, and it seems the new DC logo callback starts with Batman: Caped Crusader, which is ahead of the anticipated launch date.
Caped Crusader is the First Non-DCU Project To Debut the New Franchise Logo
James Gunn and Peter Safran taking over DC Studios meant something for the future in rebuilding the DCU and its Omniverse.
And before the all-new Man of Steel flick arrives in theaters, we got our first look at the new DC logo that pays homage to the classic comic book logo.
DC publisher Jim Lee recently confirmed that the classic "DC bullet" logo will replace the DC logo on comic books starting sometime in October. Eventually, the new motion logo will also be marked on other merch and toys in early 2025.
The new "DC bullet" logo was designed by Milton Glaser, best known for his work on the I Love New York logo.
The DC bullet was first used from 1976 until 2005, which served as the signature mark for the publisher's most popular stories such as Crisis on Infinite Earths, The Man of Steel to The Dark Knight Returns.
It also donned the rise of the creative company that reshaped the fate of DC since then. The four stars around the circle meet the context of their tagline, "The Line of DC Super Stars."
"The beautiful motion logo with the iconic, classic take on Superman breaking forth from the chains that bind him is a powerful reminder of DC Comics' role in the history of comic books and the impact of our iconic stories on modern, global pop culture," Jim Lee wrote on his Instagram post.
It is also worth mentioning that while the new DC Bullet is set to launch in October, DC fans already got their first full look at it by waiting in the post-credits of Batman: Caped Crusader's premiere episode:
Considering the major changes to Batman's 1940s adventure as the Dark Knight, fans can agree that Batman: Caped Crusader may just be the tip of the iceberg in the changes they can expect from the franchise.
