Marvel Studios has assembled an all-star ensemble for Thor: Love and Thunder and they just pulled out the big guns with the casting of The Dark Knight trilogy star Christian Bale who is jumping ship from DC to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The casting comes as a huge surprise especially since the general belief amongst fans was that Bale was done with superhero films after his successful tenure as Batman.
Now, we still don't know which character he plays in the sequel but at least we now know that Bale is in already Australia, presumably to begin production for the film, joining Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, and director Taika Waititi. A fan-captured video of Bale arriving in Sydney has surfaced online, indicating of course that he'll start work on the project which is reportedly kicking off sooner than you think.
The multi-awarded actor has had an apparent change of heart and it will be a treat to see him take his acting prowess over to the MCU. This news also means that we could finally be getting some much-needed news and details regarding his true involvement in the project that still remains a mystery up to this point and that alone should excite you. And with an actor of his caliber, something tells me that Taika and his crew won't waste his casting and he's set to play a crucial role in the fourth Thor film. We'll soon find out, I guess.
Thor: Love and Thunder is slated for release in 2022.
