We've been getting a lot of updates on Batgirl ever since the film started production this month, but most of them were about Leslie Grace's Barbara Gordon. Now it's time to put the focus on the DC movie's main villain. A new set video offers our first look at Brendan Fraser in action as Firefly!
There is little doubt that people are excited about Brendan Fraser playing a major role in Batgirl. Although the star of The Mummy has been playing Cliff Steele in Doom Patrol, it's great to know that he can easily play a new character in the DC Universe.
Fraser has finally started filming his scenes for Batgirl and a new set video teases Firefly's love for starting fires. Check it out here.
It's great to finally see Fraser on the set of Batgirl and there is little doubt we'll get more updates on his character soon. Hopefully, Firefly will get an awesome suit in the highly anticipated movie.
We previously saw Leslie Grace's Batgirl suit when the In The Heights star shared the first official photo of Barbara Gordon on her social media accounts. However, the reveal was met with mixed reactions as fans thought the costume was ill-fitting and claimed that there are cosplay suits that were way better. The backlash led to co-director Adil El Arbi admonishing fans for judging too soon.
For now, it looks like the costumes are still in the works and there is a possibility they will look better as production continues. Hopefully, El Arbi is right and fans will be blown away once the movie finally hits HBO Max later this year.
Batgirl will also star J.K. Simmons as Barbara's father Commissioner Jim Gordon and Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne aka Batman. The film has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
