Despite Affleck's impending exit and the entire Michael Keaton scenario, DC's Batman universe seems to be alive and well, and don't expect our caped crusader to take a break anytime soon as Warner Bros. and DC obviously still have huge plans for the legendary comic book character in the live-action side of things.

Speaking of the Dark Knight, fans of the Batman lore have been wanting to see villain Bane get a "proper" and much more comic-faithful treatment in a future project. The last time we saw the character, he was wreaking havoc in Christopher Nolan's version of Gotham City but Tom Hardy's portrayal of the character received a mixed responses from fans.

Now, tipster Grace Randolph is reporting that the iconic Batman villain is DCEU bound in early 2022. In a tweet, Randolph confirmed that Bane will finally make his long-awaited DCEU debut in an upcoming HBO Max project. However, she didn't disclose which project it will be and which actor could be in the running for the role. It's worth noting though that Dave Bautista has long expressed his desire to play Bane in the franchise so could it be him?

So far, three DC projects are currently lined up over at HBO Max — Blue Beetle, Batgirl, and Black Canary, and since Bane is best known for being part of Batman's rogues' gallery, it's highly likely that we'll see him in the standalone Batgirl project led by Leslie Grace and the return J.K. Simmons.

No release date has been announced for Batgirl.
