Baki Hanma and Kengan Ashura are two Netflix anime with similar over-the-top martial arts action. So, it makes sense that Netflix announced a Baki Hanma VS Kengan Ashura crossover anime during its AnimeJapan 2024 stage event.
This surprise crossover anime was revealed with a new trailer that features the protagonists of the two shows. It also confirmed the two lead stars along with the anime’s release date.
Baki Hanma VS Kengan Ashura Lead Voice Cast Confirmed
While the announcement didn’t come with lots of info regarding the anime’s story, Netflix did confirm that each anime’s lead will return to voice their iconic characters.
This means Nobunaga Shimazaki is back as Baki in this upcoming crossover. Shimazaki is best known for being the voice of Mahito in Jujutsu Kaisen, Shun Kaido in The Disastrous Life of Saiki K, and Seishiro Nagi in Blue Lock.
Meanwhile, Tatsuhisa Suzuki is returning to voice Ohma Tokita in Kengan Ashura. Suzuki is another notable VA, with voice roles including Ban in The Seven Deadly Sins, Kazunari Takao in Kuroko’s Basketball, and Ken Ryuguji in Tokyo Revengers.

Netflix Shares Baki Hanma VS Kengan Ashura Anime Trailer
Netflix premiered the crossover anime’s announcement trailer during AnimeJapan 2024. Shortly after, the trailer was shared on Netflix’s official YouTube channel and other social media pages.
Even though it’s just a short trailer, it features Baki Hanma and Ohma Tokita across the street from each other in Tokyo, with Tokyo Skytree in the background.
It’s not clear how these two will face off but this matchup is likely going to be the crossover anime’s main event.
According to the Netflix listing, Baki Hanma VS Kengan Ashura will be a one-hour special film, not a full-length anime series.
Which Studio Will Animate the Baki VS Kengan Anime?
Baki has gotten several anime adaptations, though the latest one by Netflix is produced by TMS Entertainment, the studio behind Dr. Stone and Rent-a-Girlfriend.
As for Kengan Ashura, this is another Netflix anime, though it’s animated by Larx Entertainment. This studio is behind Tekken: Bloodline and Soul Worker.
Based on info from Netflix, TMS Entertainment is the studio working on the series. This makes sense given the trailer’s 2D animation.
