Ko Baek-Joong (played by Ahn Jae-Hong) is one interesting character in Chicken Nugget. Apart from his unrequited love for Choi Min-A (played by Kim You-Jung), he's a character that grows on you.

He loves to write songs and will do that while skipping on his way to work. He's also pretty goofy with his crazy style: bright yellow pants paired with a pink top and a bright blue vest.

But there's actually a reason why he wears this crazy ensemble all the time.

In episode 7 of Chicken Nugget, we learn Baek-Joong's back story. When he was young, his parents asked him what his dream career was. When he answered he wanted to be a singer/songwriter, his father nonchalantly agreed and said:

"That's amazing. I support you fully. Then I guess you should study mechanical engineering."

His stubborn father (played by Ko Chang-Seok) added: "If you want to be a loser singing, making music, earn money first."

When Baek-Joong attempts to answer back, his father says he would kill himself if he pursued otherwise.

It is later explained that he decided to wear his crazy ensemble as his way of rebelling against his father. Because of his stubbornness, he cannot admit that he was wrong.

Even if he tells Baek-Joong he has "nice pants," he continues to act like he is sincere about it.

In the last episode, Baek-Joong becomes a hit singer who goes by the name Yellow Pants.

This happened when he was stopped by his young followers who asked him the name of his band. Without being able to think ahead, he answers "Yellow Pants."

This is how he became famous 50 years into the future where he is already in his 70s.

He also earned the nickname Yellow Pants from Yoo Tae-Man (played by Jung Seung-Gil) and Yoo In-Won (played by Yoo Seung-Mok), especially since Baek-Joong kept calling In-Won as "Larva."
