Sony Pictures' upcoming spinoff film featuring beloved Spider-Man character Madame Web is slowly taking some shape. Following the confirmation that Fifty Shades of Grey actress Dakota Johnson will be playing the titular role, it was recently announced that rising star Sydney Sweeney, who's been wowing audiences with her performance in the hit HBO series Euphoria has also been cast in the project. Sweeney's role still remains a mystery as of writing but a lot of webheads are convinced that she's playing the multiversal counterpart of Gwen Stacy who becomes Ghost-Spider in her alternate world.

Given Sydney's physical features, it's not that hard to understand why fans want her for the part. Now, Instagram artist and certified Spidey geek @venomhology is joining the guessing game and it looks like he's also in favor of seeing the 24-year-old become the SonyVerse's live-action Spider-Gwen. Taking to his official account, the Dubai-based artist unveiled a "spectacular" (get it?) artwork depicting Sweeney as the beloved Spider-hero. Check it out here:

While Sydney's potential casting as Gwen Stacy sounds promising, rumor has it that the SonyVerse will feature Andrew Garfield as its main Spider-Man which makes a ton of sense considering his history with the franchise. Fans are even convinced that Spider-Man: No Way Home dropped hints regarding his future in the universe which is home to characters like Venom, Carnage, and Morbius.

Now, if Stacy is indeed set for a major comeback as Spider-Gwen, Emma Stone is the obvious choice for the role even if it's going to be a multiversal version of the character so I think Sydney is out of the conversation.

Sony Pictures' Madame Web is currently under development.
