Avengers vs Guardians May Be a Thing We Didn’t Know We Wanted

Anything with a face-off in the storyline is both interesting and daunting. For one thing, it would mean a gathering of superheroes, like what we saw in Captain America: Civil War. But a rather half-baked story that revolves only around the face-off rather than a fluid narrative could spell disaster.

Now, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige is suggesting that we may see a similar face-off but with different characters this time—and it involves the two biggest groups in the MCU, the Avengers and the Guardians.

Speaking to Fandango, Feige hinted that that there are still a lot of places and characters to explore and flesh out. And the possibilities that this hints at is very exciting for the team.

"It's continuing to evolve [and] continuing to surprise. It's continuing to bring out films with characters that people have seen before and loved before, or new characters, but taking them to unexpected places, which is what I think the comics have done extremely well over the decades."

What's more, the humor of the MCU goes beyond the storylines, as the actors themselves are able to have good fun with each other. There's even supposedly some good banter among the group, so much so that Feige can tease that a face-off between the two groups isn't off the table.

For now, check out Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 when it releases in theaters on May 5.
