Warning: This article contains spoilers for Avengers: Endgame.
Avengers: Endgame may have beautifully closed Captain America's (Chris Evans) story, however, a certain Marvel star may be hinting at the return of one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's key players.
While everyone assumes that Avengers: Endgame means the end of Captain America's time in the MCU (including the film's directors Joe and Anthony Russo), Captain America star Sebastian Stan, the actor who plays Bucky Barnes, The Winter Soldier, reveals that he's not so sure that the film means the end for Steve.
"You see when we were filming the movie, I didn't know I was going to be apparently filming it for the last time with them," the actor told fans at an Italian convention (via Express), "I think it's difficult to... I don't know if it's goodbye to Steve yet. I don't know, you know? I wonder about that."
Could Cap really have the opportunity to return to the MCU even after going back in time and growing old with Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell)? It's hard not to hope after Stan, an actor so closely tied to Captain America, expresses doubt over Captain America's retirement.
Of course, we may get to see Captain America in flashbacks. Or cameos. After all, there have been rumors saying that Captain America would appear in Marvel's upcoming Disney+ series meant for Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and for The Winter Soldier.
Let's just wait and see what happens.
Avengers: Endgame is currently screening in cinemas.
