Avengers: Quantum Encounter, the new interactive dining experience in Worlds of Marvel at the Disney Wish cruise ship, features the appearances of our favorite MCU heroes such as Ant-Man, Wasp, Captain Marvel, Captain America, and Ms. Marvel. Considering that the same actors from the films and TV shows played the roles in the attraction, there are fans who are wondering whether it is part of the official MCU canon or not. Now, we have the answer.
Speaking with The Direct, Danny Handke, the Creative Director for Worlds of Marvel, confirmed that Avengers: Quantum Encounter is not part of the MCU canon. While the characters are played by the same actors in the MCU, they consider them as a variant of the main MCU timeline and the attraction is part of their "theme park universe."
"We are kind of in our own theme park universe, and the Multiverse concept's great because we're a Variant of the main MCU timeline, so it helps everyone understand that," Handke said. "Canon is the official canon we see on screen and our park universe mirrors that, but our stories go in different directions, mainly because we as the audience are protagonists."
It is the same case for all the Marvel attractions in the Disney theme parks where we see characters such as Adult Groot appear in Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Iron Man and Black Widow in Avengers Campus. Despite having the same actors or look from the MCU films and TV shows, they're not part of the canon that we know.
It's not surprising to hear that Avengers: Quantum Encounter is not part of the MCU canon. After all, the idea of Captain Marvel, Captain America, and Ms. Marvel sharing a scene together already contradicts the MCU canon since none of them have interacted before or established that they have known connections. Now, you can enjoy the attraction without ever thinking about its involvement in the entire MCU.

The Disney Wish cruise ship is scheduled to have its maiden voyage on July 14.
