Avengers: Infinity War Theory about Iron Man's Repulsor Upgrade Will Give You Feels

Avengers: Infinity War gave us the most advanced version of the Iron Man suit yet, and one of the coolest scenes in the film was where it formed a giant repulsor on Tony's feet to blast him full speed towards Maw's ship. What's interesting is that a theory on Reddit has come out to guess why Tony would develop the tech, and the reason is kind of sad.

According to the theory, Tony developed the feature because of the events of Captain America: Civil War where he failed to catch Rhodey during the end of the airport scuffle. If he had only caught him, Rhodey would still have the use of his legs; good thing Stark Industries has those nifty metal braces around.

This isn't even the first time that Tony is theorized to have developed something to counter a problem he personally had in a previous movie. Rhodey's fall was also thought to be the reason that Spider-Man's suit has a parachute; the heating feature was also said to have been a result of Tony freezing in the snow back in Iron Man 3.

While it's possible that these were developed just for spectacle or convenience of the plot, it's amazing how some fans can make connections from movie to movie. Hopefully Stark manages to trump Thanos with something else come Avengers 4.
