Avengers: Infinity War Starts Filming, Movie Signals Last Few Movies for Cap

Perhaps the biggest movie that fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been looking forward to would be the two Avengers: Infinity War movies. That's because these are going to be the culmination of the hard work and meticulousness in filmmaking, which was started as early as 2008.

Sadly, it also signals a couple of things for the universe. This is why the start of filming marks the occasion in a big way. According to Bleeding Cool, filming will already be starting in Edinburgh this weekend.

The report stated that part of the filming will include testing of lights and setting up the equipment for specific locations like Cockburn Street and Parliament Square. Other locations that have bene marked for filming in March towards April include the Royal Mile. Part of this locations filming are small explosions, the same ones we already get to see in previous Marvel movies.

Part of this movement in the filming process is the ever-looming possibility that some of the known faces of the Avengers will be nearing their contracts. A recent interview with Esquire (via CBM) noted that Captain America's Chris Evans is already nearing the end of his six-movie contract.

This is three films shorter than the original nine-picture deal which he had reportedly refused to sign. The most that Marvel could get him to agree on was six movies, and part of that agreement is the Avengers: Infinity War.

While there are no confirmations that Evans will no longer be taking up the shield he had put down in Captain America: Civil War, the article about the actor seems to suggest this.

"The movie will be shot back to back beginning in April. After that, no more red- white-and-blue costume for the thirty-five-year-old. He will have fulfilled his contract."

There's mention that Evans' time in the Marvel franchise has tied him up pretty long into the studio's long-running project. And this resulted in him being able to participate in limited movie projects or even in other directing endeavors.

Of course, this doesn't mean any confirmations, but it should be noted that the role of Captain America may be given to someone else, such as the Winter Soldier. Personally, when they released the storyline that Captain America was part of Hydra, I thought that was an avenue that they can explore further. I guess we'll have to wait and see how the franchise will do without its Golden Boy later on in the game.

Avengers: Infinity War will be out on May 2018 with a still-untitled sequel coming a year after.
