Avengers: Infinity War Star Benedict Cumberbatch Talks About His Biggest Regret Working On The FIlm

With the film earning more than $2 billion dollars at the global box office and raking in rave reviews from fans and critics alike, fans would expect Avengers: Infinity War stars to be happy with everything about the film. However, it looks like Doctor Strange star Benedict Cumberbatch still has a few regrets about the Marvel movie.

Speaking in a pretty in-depth and thorough interview with Uproxx, Cumberbatch was asked what his regrets for Infinity War. Sure the film might have been a success however if the BBC Sherlock star could change anything in the movie, then what would it be? According to the actor, it would be failing to sneak into movie houses just to see how people reacted to the Marvel Movie.

"...my biggest regret of that whole time is that I didn't sneak in to see people's reaction. And I wish I had. I really do. I really wish I'd done that. And I think it was such a long press tour, by the time my family got me home I was well and truly on holiday and with them. Or was I working? Geez, I can't even remember anymore. I think I had a tiny break and then I was riding into doing a TV drama about Brexit. But yeah, it's my biggest regret of that whole experience. And there aren't that many regrets, because it was a wild ride. I mean, just selling that movie by not being able to say anything. But the places we got to go – and it was very cool"

During the interview, the actor explained just how powerful Infinity War was. Recalling his experience watching the movie together with an American audience during the film's global premiere in LA, Cumberbatch said that people were really brought in to the movie just as much as his wife. According to the actor, even his wife had quite a crush on Doctor Strange, and seeing the character turn to dust at the end of the film just broke her.

Now, the only question that remains is whether Avengers 4 will do the same. Will Infinity War's sequel have the same impact as its predecessor? Let's wait and see.

Avengers 4 hits cinemas May 3, 2019.
