Avengers: Infinity War Possibly Getting Thanos Cut, Will Detail the Mad Titan's Origin

Avengers: Infinity War was the longest film from Marvel Studios but it didn't really feel like that thanks to great pacing. The film was already over two hours and 30 minutes but if Jim Starlin is to be believed, it could have gone even longer. Apparently, there is plenty of footage that goes into detail about the backstory of Thanos and why he decides to go after the Infinity Stones.

Starlin revealed this in a panel with Collider, claiming that Marvel had to cut the scene due to Infinity War's length. This is pretty believable given the third Avengers film's length and it would not be a surprise if the fourth were even longer. However, what might not be believable is the fact that a Thanos Cut of Infinity War could be coming out soon.

If Starlin is to be believed, and fans should take this with a grain of salt, Thanos' backstory will not just be a series of deleted scenes but is going to be integrated into the main narrative. Fans have to take this with a grain of salt since The Russos and Kevin Feige have yet to mention a Thanos Cut, let alone an extended version of this movie.

To be fair, this would be a really cool release and MCU fans would eat it up like hotcakes. Until an official announcement is made though, we will have to wait and see. Remember what happened the last time Jim Starlin said something in a panel?

Avengers 4 comes out on May 3, 2019.
