Avengers: Infinity War Director’s Explain Inspiration For The Winter Soldier’s New Arm

Bucky (Sebastian) might have lost his prosthetic arm in Captain America: Civil War, but it seems like the Winter Soldier's going to get a new arm in Avengers: Infinity War.

In Marvel's very first trailer for the first of its two-part Avengers movie-event, fans get to see Bucky with a brand new arm and in an question-and-answer session with the film's directors on Chinese microblogging site Sina Weibo (via Comicbook), The Russo brothers explain that Bucky's time in Africa might have had something to do with the new arm.

"Well, this is not a spoiler by me answering this question because we know at the, exactly, it's in the trailer," Anthony Russoe explained. "But also, for everyone who has seen Captain America: Civil War, they know that Bucky was taken in by T'Challa in Wakanda, and so I think they, you know, we catch back up with him after he's been there for a while and if there is an influence on his arm it may perhaps have to do with that country he's been spending time in."

Though the filmmaker didn't fully reveal Bucky's part in Infinity War, his answer does imply that the Winter Soldier's brainwashing issue has finally been settled. Hydra's hold over Bucky has finally come to an end, and it's good to see the hero with a new arm inspired by the tech of Wakanda.

Avengers: Infinity War is set to release on May 4, 2018 while Avengers 4 hits on May 3, 2019.
