Marvel fans may have gotten to see the power of all six Infinity Stones working together in the hands of Thanos (Josh Brolin) in Avengers: Infinity War. However, while viewers got to see the individual power of the Power Stone and the Time Stone in the film, the movie didn't really showcase the power of one of the most mysterious stones in the set, the Soul Stone.
Now, thanks to concept art from Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War – the Art of the Movie, fans finally get some insight on the Infinity Stone that caused the death of Thanos' beloved daughter, Gamora (Zoe Saldana). Redditors have been sharing images from the Infinity War art book online the past few days, and one of those leaked threads on Reddit is an image of Titan using the Soul Stone in his battle with Iron Man (Robert Downy Jr.), Dr. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) and the others in Titan.
In the image, Thanos tries to extract the souls of Iron Man, Star-Lord, Nebula (Karen Gillan), Mantis (Pom Klementieff) and Drax (Dave Bautista) in an epic scene where the Mad Titan makes use of the Soul Stone. With their souls removed out of their body, these different members of the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy leave all their technology behind, the essence of their life being pushed out of their bodies.
The concept art would have probably made for a pretty cool sequence in Infinity War – it's such a shame that the Russo Brothers decided against featuring it in the movie.
The sequel to Infinity War, the highly anticipated Avengers 4, hits cinemas May 3, 2019.
