Avengers: Infinity War Almost Didn't Give Thor a New Eye

Avengers: Infinity War may have been a depressing film for Marvel fans considering that it ended with the heroes losing to Thanos but it also had several light-hearted scenes. For instance, there was a hilarious moment when Rocket Raccoon gave Thor a new eye. However, new concept art has just revealed that the God of Thunder almost had to wear an eye patch all throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe flick.

The book Avengers: Endgame - The Art of the Movie features several awesome concept arts for the film and interestingly, there are some unexpected looks that Thor almost had in the movie (via Reddit). Check it out below.

Art of Avengers Endgame - Thor with eyepatch

Notice anything different about Thor? He's still wearing the eye patch he got at the end of Thor: Ragnarok and continued to wear in Infinity War until Rocket gave him a new eye. Although it's a good look for the God of Thunder, we're still glad that Marvel decided to give him a new eye so he could fight better in Endgame.

It's no secret that Thor has been through so much in the MCU. He lost his mother and his brother (sort of, anyway) in Thor: The Dark World, then his father in Ragnarok. In addition to that, both Loki and Heimdall were killed early on in Infinity War. Needless to say, getting a new eye was a small victory for him that he appreciated so we're happy things were looking up for him in the film.

Chris Hemsworth is set to reprise his role as the God of Thunder in Thor: Love and Thunder, which is scheduled for release on November 5, 2021.
