Avengers: Endgame Writers Reveal The Real Score Between Steve Rogers And Sharon Carter Pre-Snap

Avengers: Endgame writers Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus originally planned to give fans a peek at Steve Rogers and Sharon's relationship.

The last time we saw the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent was in Captain America: Civil War, where she and Steve share a kiss. It looked like a relationship was going to blossom, but we never saw Emily Van Camp's character again. What we just knew was that Sharon was one of the halves that were turned to ash during the snap. Even then, there wasn't really anything to suggest what the real score is between her and Steve.

McFeely and Markus did confirm that Steve and Sharon were living together before the events of Avengers: Endgame. In an interview with Yahoo Entertainment, the duo revealed that the original draft featured the two living together, but that it wasn't going very well between them.

This scene was ultimately cut from the film since they wanted to focus on Thanos and the Infinity Stones. Markus added that it really wasn't much of a shock that it didn't end up in the film. "And those are the moments when [Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige] comes in and goes ‘what the hell are you doing?'" he joked.

Knowing that Steve's sendoff in Avengers: Endgame was all about reuniting with Peggy and living a full life with the one he truly loves, checking in with his relationship with another girl who is technically her niece would've been pretty weird, to say the least. If this scene made the cut, it will one of the many time travel shenanigans that fans will just struggle to wrap their head around.

While it looks like we won't be seeing Captain America anytime soon, we'll see Sharon grace the screen again with news that Van Camp will be reprising the role in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier series coming to Disney+.
