Avengers: Endgame Writers Reveal How Loki Disney Series Set Up Was An Accident

Avengers: Endgame might have been able to set up Loki's (Tom Hiddleston) eventual return into the Marvel Cinematic Universe by allowing the Asgardian God of Mischief to steal the Tesseract and create a new timeline after the Avengers returned to the past, but it seems like the whole set up was an accident.

ComicBook.com just recently held a Quarantine Watch Party for Endgame, and during the event, co-writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely shared a few fun facts about the epic comic book movie. One of these fun facts was the establishment of the Loki Disney+ series, a project that had been set up by Loki's little adventure in Endgame.

When asked by fans whether the head honchos at Marvel had instructed the writers to allow Loki to escape to set up the Loki Disney+ series, Markus and McFeely revealed that it had all been a happy accident.

"No! We just thought it was a juicy way to upset the heist," the screenwriters revealed in a tweet using the ComicBook.com Twitter account.

It seems like Marvel just took advantage of Markus and McFeely's happy accident, allowing Loki to return without actually resurrecting the version of Thor's (Chris Hemsworth) brother that they had killed off during the opening act of Avengers: Infinity War.

There's a lot of excitement over the Loki series right now. Not only does it promises Loki's return, but it also promises fans a whole lot of time travel, and we can only imagine the chaos that's going to ensue now that Kid Loki and Lady Loki are making their way into the MCU.

Loki has yet to receive a release date but we'll update fans as soon as we get word.
