Avengers: Endgame Real Villain Possibly Teased In Guardians Of The Galaxy

People are already expecting the heroes to once again face Thanos in Avengers: Endgame. But is it possible that the Mad Titan isn't the real threat in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe flick? Captain America and the team might actually need to go back in time to prevent a completely different disaster that could wipe out the entire universe.

We already know that Thanos' purpose for collecting the Infinity Stones was to wipe out half of all the universe in Avengers: Infinity War. All he needed to do was put all of the Gems in his Gauntlet and snap his fingers for this to happen. This proves how powerful the Stones are and possibly how dangerous it is to keep all of them together.

In Guardians of the Galaxy, the Collector revealed the Infinity Stones' backstory. These Gems were once part of "six singularities" that existed before Creation itself. However, these systems were reduced to tiny Stones when the Universe "exploded into existence" and were scattered across the galaxy. It is unclear if the singularities were the reasons why the Universe existed in the first place. However, the Collector explained that each Stone on its own is capable of "wiping out entire civilizations."

So is it possible that the Stones being in close vicinity to each other could actually cause a major catastrophe? Perhaps Thanos only needed to snap to use their power but it is unknown what could happen if the Infinity Stones are used once again. Perhaps this time, the entire universe could be destroyed and everything will cease to exist.

Of course, there's also the possibility that the Gauntlet and the Infinity Stones embedded within will fall into the wrong hands. A theory posted on Reddit suggests that the Gauntlet could be used by a new supervillain so the Stones need to be separated and given to new keepers as soon as possible. However, all of these are still based on speculations so it's best to take it with a grain of salt.

Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26.
