Fans might expect Joe and Anthony Russo to take a break after working on the back to back productions of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame but it looks like the directorial duo are open to returning to Marvel Studios just so they can collaborate on the future runs of Disney+'s upcoming series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
Joe Russo just recently went on an interview with Entertainment Tonight, and during a discussion with the entertainment news outlet, the director was asked about contributing to the upcoming series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
"We love Marvel, and we'd do anything with them," Russo replied. "They're like family to us now, we're so close with everyone there. We've had the greatest working experience of our lives there. We'd work on anything they asked us to work on. In the moment we're focusing on our own studio, it's called AGBO, and we've got a bunch of projects that are coming out in the next few months that we've got to focus our energy on, so that's where our attention is at the moment."
Unfortunately, as much as the Russos would want to return, Endgame is, for now, the directorial duo's Endgame with marvel.
"For now it is," Joe said.
The directors have worked for seven straight years for Marvel, giving their time and attention on the studio's projects. Now, it looks like the directors want to try something new, to expand beyond the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
"We're taking the capital that we built up from the Marvel films and using it to tell important stories that we think are more difficult to get through the system, like Cherry, but that are very important to tell and bring to audiences," Anthony Russo added.
Guess it's going to take a bit of time for the Russos to return and direct in the MCU.
Avengers: Endgame releases on Digital HD on July 30.
