Avengers: Endgame Might Feature Captain Marvel's Goose The Cat In Pivotal Role

Captain Marvel is finally out and people are falling in love with the film's true star Goose the cat. Interestingly, the furry hero did more than just save the day in the Marvel Cinematic Universe flick. There are speculations that Goose will play a pivotal role in Avengers: Endgame.

Spoilers Ahead! You Have Been Warned!

In Captain Marvel, it was revealed that Mar-Vell has been in possession of the Tesseract, which is the source of the energy-core that gave Carol Danvers her powers. Carol tries to get Fury to hide the cube but Fury wasn't quite willing to hold it with his own hands.

It is then that Goose finally shows everyone what a Flerken is capable of. The cat-like alien unleashed his several tentacles (which are hidden within his mouth), grabs the Tesseract, and swallows it whole.

It's a convenient way to hide the Tesseract. After all, Flerkens have a pocket dimension within their bodies that they can access at any time. The Space Stone is safely stowed away inside Goose until the Captain Marvel post-credits scene.

After all the credits have rolled, we see Goose sitting on Nick Fury's desk where he coughs up a truly important hairball. Although the scene could explain how the Tesseract ended up with S.H.I.E.L.D. in the first place, there are speculations that the sequence actually takes place right after Avengers: Infinity War.

According to Esquire, there's a possibility that Goose is actually coughing up a new Tesseract after Thanos snapped his fingers in Infinity War. This could give the Avengers a new weapon they could use against the Mad Titan and hopefully save half the universe. In addition to that, it's certainly in line with the mid-credits scene where Captain Marvel turns up to ask the survivors about Fury's whereabouts.

We certainly like the idea of seeing more of Goose this April. However, this is still based on theory so it's best to take it with a grain of salt.

Captain Marvel is currently screening on theaters worldwide. Avengers: Endgame will premiere on April 26.
