Avengers: Endgame Jarvis Actor Wants to Come Back in The MCU

Three years after Avengers: Endgame wrapped things up for the MCU's Infinity Saga, the film still sits as the second highest-grossing film of all time. Featuring surprising crossovers that fans never thought would happen on the big screens, the film also introduced unexpected characters like James D'Arcy's Jarvis from Agent Carter. D'Arcy's cameo in Endgame marked the first time that an actor from a Marvel TV series jumped on the big screens.

Now that some characters from the Marvel TV series are making the jump to the MCU, like last year's surprising cameo of Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock in Spiderman: No Way Home, D'Arcy also expressed his hopes for his character's return.

Speaking to Digital Spy, Jarvis actor James D'Arcy discussed the possibilities of reprising his role while talking about Avengers: Endgame. “I loved the experience, and I was really lucky – the Russo brothers have been very, very good to me, and they very sweetly invited me back to be in Endgame briefly, which was great.“ D'Arcy said.

D'Arcy continued teasing that 'nobody is ever dead' in the MCU, probably hinting at his come back, "And, you know, as I’ve said before, the Marvel universe is a funny old place. Nobody is ever dead. And now they’re into the metaverse.” While also pointing out that he “loved playing Jarvis.”

The actor went on to recall his time during the Agent Carter series, starring Hayley Atwell.

“What I loved about Agent Carter was, it was a really strong, female-led show, in which the protagonist – so, Agent Carter, Hayley – was a decent person, trying to do decent things, and quite often doing them in a very entertaining and fun way. I thought she was such a great role model for young women. And then there’s this sort of ridiculous sidekick, which was me. And I just had so much – I hadn’t ever really done any comedy before then.”

While it's hard to distinguish yet if Marvel has any plans for James D'Arcy's Jarvis, the actor's willingness to return must prove valuable for Marvel Studios to explore more of Iron Man's prominent virtual intelligence sidekick.

If ever Jarvis returns, Marvel might consider including him for Armor Wars, which makes sense because it would center on the legacy of Tony Stark's Iron Man. Armor Wars could explore an extensive history of the Stark Family, including potential flashbacks featuring the creation of Jarvis.

Avengers: Endgame is still streaming on Disney+.
