Could Marvel have accidentally spoiled Star-Lord's status in Avengers: Endgame?
A Marvel fan just recently uncovered a possible Star-Lord spoiler in a featurette for the final chapter in Joe and Anthony Russo's two-part Avengers movie. Taking to Reddit this fan points out Pratt's on-set interview appearance at a lakeside cabin in a featurette released ahead of Endgame's premiere. The cabin looks like it belongs to a scene that fans have seen in the film's marketing campaign, a location where Captain America (Chris Evans) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) are both present.
Could this interview mean that Star-Lord returns to life after Thanos' (Josh Brolin) Snappening? At what point will Star-Lord return, after the Avengers undo the Decimation, or before that? Could Star-Lord return thanks to the Avenger's time-travel? Will we be able to see Peter Quill fight alongside the Avengers in Endgame?
If this potential return is proven to be true, then Quill's arrival on Earth would be his first return to the planet since his abduction in 1988 by Yondu (Michael Rooker) and his Ravagers.
Of course, the Russos could very well have deliberately placed Pratt in the lakeside for his interview in order to mislead the Marvel fanbase. The filmmakers did acknowledge in the past that they would sometimes manipulate trailers to avoid spoilers from making their way online. It might seem tricksy, but it is effective, especially when you're dealing with a fanbase that scrutinize's very little detail that comes their way.
Avengers: Endgame premieres April 26, 2019.
