Avengers: Endgame Fan Theory Suggests Ultron Will Return To Battle With Thanos

Ultron might not be as significant a character now that Marvel Studios has moved on from Avengers: Age of Ultron to more important films like Avengers: Infinity War and Black Panther, but with Joe and Anthony Russo's two-part Avengers movie coming to a close, word has it the Marvel baddie just might make it to Avengers: Endgame.

According to Screen Geek, there's a new theory making the rounds online saying that Ultron just might help battle Thanos and his hordes in Avengers 4. After learning the official title to the sequel to Infinity War, fans went back to Age of Ultron to locate the first time the phrase "end game" was mentioned in the MCU. Turns out Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) was the very first one to mention the phrase during Ultron's first attack in the film.

"We're the Avengers, We can bust arms dealers all the livelong day, but that up there… that's the endgame," Iron Man tells the team during the scene.

This quote has some believing that Stark might attempt to bring back Ultron to help battle Thanos and his army – an act of desperation if you will. While this might seem a bit farfetched, an Infinity War concept art piece actually shows Tony trying to bring Ultron back to life. Knowing the desperation the team's facing with half of the living popular of the universe gone, we'd certainly expect Tony to take all measures to bring the dead back home.

Avengers: Endgame premieres April 26, 2019.
