Avengers: Endgame Deleted Scene Brings Up Plot Hole from Captain America: The First Avenger

Avengers: Endgame may be the highest-grossing movie of all time, but a lot of fans were quick to point out that the film had numerous plot holes. What's interesting is, there's a deleted scene that kind of calls out a plot problem from one of the Phase 1 films—Captain America: The First Avenger.

The scene has Rhodey and Cap talking about Steve crashing the plane back in the 40s (presumably to figure out what time period they can obtain the Tesseract). Steve talks about crashing the plane with him inside, and Rhodey brings up the common fan criticism that pointed out that Steve could have very much jumped out of the plane before it crashed:

We don't really get an answer from Steve, but I guess it would be a very awkward thing for him to deal with. After all, it was this crash that got him lost and frozen in time. Imagine thinking Steve lost everything he had because of something that could have been easily solved.

If anything, I understand why they cut this out of the film. With this being Steve Rogers' final outing as Captain America, it would make sense that they would want to make Cap look the best that he can be. If anything it just ruins The First Avenger for a lot of fans that even forgot the plot hole existed.

For now, you can catch Cap and Rhodey in Avengers: Endgame when it hits digital July 30 and DVD/Blu-Ray on Aug. 13.
