With the merger between Disney and 20th Century Fox becoming an inevitable reality, Marvel fans have started cooking up different theories on how the Mickey Mouse House could bring the X-Men, Fantastic Four, Deadpool, and all its other mutant heroes into the warm and welcoming arms of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
One of these theories ties the arrival of the X-Men and the other mutants with one of the most highly anticipated Marvel movie of 2019 – Avengers 4.
According to a new Avengers 4 theory posted on Reddit, Captain America (Chris Evans), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and the rest of the remaining Marvel heroes might actually be able to bring in Fox's mutants when they try to undo Thanos snap in the Infinity War sequel.
Though the X-Men and Fantastic Four have never been really part of the MCU, this new theory suggests that the mutants are actually either in an alternate universe, or they're lost in the negative zone.
Once the remaining members of the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy undo Thanos' massacre, the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and all other mutants get brought back together with half of the living population of the MCU.
It's a pretty interesting theory. However, while this new postulation might seem like a pretty probable way of inserting Fox's mutant properties into Marvel, fans have to remember that the merger between Disney and Fox is still going to take some time, and Avengers 4 is going to make its way soon. Eight months isn't long, and Avengers 4 is currently wrapping up production, working on its reshoots.
There might not be enough time to incorporate this elaborate plan just yet. Still, Marvel could plant hints, but we'll just have to wait to see that.
Avengers 4 hits cinemas May 3, 2019.
