Avengers 4 Directors on Which Dead Character They Would Have Saved From Thanos

So many hearts broke when Avengers: Infinity War premiered in cinemas this year. Sure, the comic book movie might have offered fans a pretty thrilling superhero adventure as the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy teamed up to keep Thanos from completing his mission, but it also killed a whole lot of fan-favorite characters, including Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Gamora (Zoe Saldana) and so many others.

Now, speaking with fans during a question and answer session after Collider's special screening of Infinity War yesterday, directors Joe and Anthony Russo open up about the characters they would have saved from the hand of the Mad Titan. Or at least one character in particular – Tom Holland's Spider-Man.

Slashfilm's Peter Sciretta was there during the Russo Brother's Q and A and according to the writer, the director's were openly taking a side. Well, Peter's side, at least.

"As fans and not directors, the Russo Brothers would have saved Peter Parker if they could have saved any of the characters who were dusted," Sciretta said (via ComicBook.com).

According to Sciretta, the Russos knew that Infinity War always had a pace to follow, and so the directors always knew which MCU characters "they wanted to be dusted at the end of the film."

Now, with Avengers 4 on the way, the only question that fans have on their mind is that whether Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans) and the rest of the Avengers might be able to undo Thanos' massacre, bringing back half of the universe's living population that had been turned into dust. Let's wait and see.

Avengers 4 premieres May 3, 2019.
