Avatar: The Last Airbender Live-Action Series Confirms Production Start with Awesome Cast Photo

It has been a long wait but it's finally happening! The live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender is ready to begin production! The upcoming series has confirmed that filming has started by sharing an awesome photo featuring the main cast of the Netflix show.

The new image was shared by the official Netflix Twitter account. The picture appears to be taken from the set of Avatar: The Last Airbender. It features the young cast namely Gordon Cormier, Kiawentiio Tarbell, Ian Ousley, and Dallas Liu, who have been cast as Aang, Katara, Sokka, and Zuko, respectively. Check it out below.

It certainly looks like the young actors are excited to be working on the new series. Fans are also hyped up for the update considering that the project was originally set to begin production in late 2019. However, there had been several changes to the adaptation including the departure of showrunners Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko (since replaced by Albert Kim).

The young cast members are not the only main players in the new Avatar series. It was previously confirmed that Lost star Daniel Dae Kim will play Zuko's villainous father Lord Ozai. Kim had previously provided the voice of General Fong in the animated series.

Avatar: The Last Airbender follows Aang, the young Avatar who has been frozen in ice for 100 years. He is awakened by Water Tribe siblings Katara and Sokka, who are then tasked to help Aang master the other elements and bring peace to a world ravaged by the tyranny of the Fire Nation.

For now, Avatar: The Last Airbender has not yet been given an official release date. However, since it is already set to begin production, there is a huge chance it will be released by late 2022. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
