There is a lot to unpack in the latest episode of Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 2. However, there is one thing about Episode 84 that fans simply can't stop talking about. In the episode, we got a glimpse at what Jean Kirstein dreams about for his future, which also includes a wife and child. But did Jean's dream really feature Mikasa Ackerman as his wife?
Attack on Titan Episode 84 opened with Jean remembering his dream of a secure future in the Military Police. Not surprisingly, he also envisioned himself getting some time to enjoy good liquor as well as a happy and secure life with his wife and child. However, things are very different in reality as he is forced to join Hange Zoe, the remaining Survey Corps, Mikasa Ackerman and the Marleyans in an effort to stop Eren Yeager's intended genocide.
It's an interesting way to open the episode but not exactly a huge surprise since the scene appears in the manga as well. However, fans are also realizing that the wife in Jean's dream looks a lot like Mikasa and that Jean has envisioned having a family with her.
Of course, there are also those who refuse to believe that Mikasa would marry Jean and start a family with him. Either way, people are debating what is truly happening here and if this family is now canon.
For now, we can't really tell how Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 2 will end and if we'll actually get to see Jean marrying Mikasa for real. Still, Jean's dream is a heartwarming look at what these people truly want in their future: peace.
Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 26 is titled Traitor ("Uragirimono") and is named after the manga's Chapter 128. Episode 85 will premiere on Monday, March 14, 2022, at 12:05 AM JST.
