ASTRO Moonbin explained how one of Keanu Reeves’ movies helped him create his comeback project with Sanha.

On March 15, ASTRO’s unit Moonbin & Sanha officially returned with the exorcist-themed comeback, Refuge. The album contains the title track, WHO.

Moonbin revealed that he actively participated in creating the concept for the album, and one of his opinions was actually inspired by Keanu Reeves.

How Keanu Reeves Inspired ASTRO Moonbin & Sanha’s Comeback

The K-pop idol recently sat for an interview and pictorial with Arena Homme Plus magazine where he revealed his inspiration in pop culture.

According to Moonbin, he particularly got an idea because of Keanu Reeves’ character in the movie Constantine.

“I gain [inspiration] from movies or dramas. For example, I was inspired by Keanu Reeves’s exorcist character in the movie ‘Constantine,’ and I worked that into the album. When I see a character or scene that leaves an impression on me, I’ll express that through music,” he explained.

Aside from Moonbin & Sanha, their group is also gearing up ahead of their May comeback. It would then mark their first comeback since dropping their mini-album, Switch On, in August 2021.

Moonbin Also Writes All The Time To Develop His Imagination

Elsewhere in the interview, Moonbin also talked about his current hobby – writing – and how it helps him in his performances.

He revealed that he uses writing to play with his imagination and turn his thoughts into metaphors. That way, he could reportedly perform better on stage or even when he is acting.

His new interview came weeks after he and Sanha caught COVID-19 before their album release. Their agency, Fantagio Music, said that the sub-unit members tested positive for the virus after Moonbin started experiencing cold symptoms. Although he was negative on self-test kits, his PCR and self-test the next day returned positive.

Meanwhile, Sanha took a preemptive PCR test and confirmed that he also got the disease.

Fortunately, Moonbin and Sanha both feel better now – enough for Moonbin to grace the pages of Arena Homme Plus magazine.
