ASTRO heartbreakingly bid goodbye to MJ for now as the member started his mandatory military service.

On May 9, MJ officially enlisted in the military, leaving the five members of ASTRO temporarily. The boy group and their staff sent him best wishes as he began serving the country.

They also asked everyone to show support to the K-pop idol so he could return healthily.

Weeks after MJ’s enlistment, ASTRO marked their comeback with a new album. Since it serves as the first project without one member, they expressed how it feels like to promote without MJ.

On Monday, the boy group held an online media showcase to mark the arrival of their third full album, Drive To The Starry Road. Aside from being the first comeback after a year, it is also the first time MJ cannot participate in the promotions due to his mandatory military service.

“He told me that I’ve done well up until now as the maknae [youngest], so I’ll be able to do well even when he’s gone,” Sanha said.

ASTRO To Have 1st Concert in 3 Years

Aside from their album, ASTRO members have to prepare for their upcoming The 3rd ASTROAD to Seoul. The tour would be their first concert after not having in-person concerts and gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Moonbin, while they are looking forward to it, he is also nervous about performing again. Still, he is happily looking forward to show the performances they have shown online so far.

ASTRO had their last concert – online – through Astro Live on WWW in 2020.
