Arnold Schwarzenegger Gives Direct Answer If He's Open to Joining the MCU

Arnold Schwarzenegger has a different caliber of his own. He is a famous bodybuilder and actor with various titles under his name. Most would say he’s an icon. Despite being part of many franchises, he’s yet to grace one of the major franchises in the world, Marvel.

Nothing is certain in the world except that the MCU is always going to produce projects for many years, given the collection of comics it has yet to bring to the screen. With that, it’s fair to say they are always on the lookout for the next actor to recruit for the franchise.

Many Hollywood actors have already expressed their interest in joining Marvel in the past. Now, Schwarzenegger has joined the mix after he was asked by Men's Health if he’s willing to join the MCU, to which he replied, “If the role is right!”

Arnold Schwarzenegger's Superhero Background

If he ever decides to join the MCU, it wouldn’t be Schwarzenegger’s first superhero stint. In the past, the Hollywood star worked with late Marvel mastermind Stan Lee to develop an animated superhero series titled Superhero Kindergarten (2021-)

Schwarzenegger provided the voice for Captain Fantastic in the animated series. The story follows a former superhero working undercover as a kindergarten teacher to help train gifted children into becoming superheroes. It was one of Lee’s final projects that only debuted after his death. A second season is officially in the works.

Not to mention the actor’s stint when he played the villainous Dr. Victor Fries/Mister Freeze in the critically panned 1997 action movie Batman & Robin, alongside notable stars George Clooney, Chris O'Donnell, Uma Thurman, and Alicia Silverstone.

The Terminator star also recently praised James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, specifically Chris Pratt, as he plays the lead, Peter Quill/Star-Lord. “I saw Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3 last night and WOW. Chris Pratt, you crushed it,” Schwarzenegger tweeted. “A non-stop, perfect mix of comedy and action. I loved it and I’m very, very proud of you.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger Could Join MCU, DC, or both

Given that he applauded Gunn’s work, he could already be on the radar of the director, especially now that he’s revamping the DC Universe and could use any incredible actor by his side.

Last year, rumors about Schwarzenegger playing the MCU’s Titanium Man in the upcoming Armor Wars film surfaced. During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Don Cheadle addressed the rumor by saying, "I think he is in for Titanium Man." but he assured fans he’d ask the actor the next time he saw him, just to confirm.
