Are We Getting An Assault Walker Other Than The “Gorilla Walker” In Star Wars: The Last Jedi?

It's been confirmed that Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be featuring the First Order's "updated" versions of the AT-AT Imperial walkers, and we recently got an idea of what they could look like thanks to some leaked Lego images. Those "Heavy Assault Walkers" have been dubbed "Gorilla Walkers" by the production, but it looks like there will be a secondary type of walker in the movie.

Check it out:

The first thing I thought about when I saw it was that giant spider machine in Will Smith's Wild Wild West movie, and as it turns out, these things (dubbed AT-PD's) were actually present in The Force Awakens, standing around the Starkiller base. Here it is next to some TIE Fighters:

It's a shame that we didn't get to see it in action in the first movie, but with all the action going around, the addition of an AT-PD might feel a bit much. Personally I just wanted more space battles.

Hopefully we get to see more of the AT-PD in action in The Last Jedi, and it would be fun to see them walking around along with the Gorilla Walkers.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi comes out Dec. 15.
